2024 is hotting up to be a floral extravaganza for florists! There are magnificent new events and floral competitions lined up for the flower industry over the next few of months. Here at floristPro we jump for joy seeing so many fabulous events filling up the calendar, and love to support and visit as many flower events as we can throughout the year. So get your diaries out and save the dates - here are 7 of the best events and competitions for florists in 2024.
Flower Events & Floristry Competitions 2024
RHS Chelsea Flower Show
Where: London
When: May 21st - 25th
Held in the heart of London, on the iconic banks of the Thames is the crème de la crème of floristry. Featuring the finest floral installations, magical garden designs and competitions galore for some of the finest florists in the UK. Competition entry is closed for this year, but why not treat yourself to a grand day out to stroll round grand marque, marvel at the show gardens, feel inspired by the majestic designs and soak up the atmosphere of Chelsea Flower Show 2024.

BFA Florist Hubs
Where: Glasgow, Sheffield, Bristol and London
When: May- July
They are back! The British Florist Association Hub meetings are popping up across the UK this Summer; at Glasgow (19Th May), Sheffield (9th June), Bristol (30th June) and London (14th July). A chance to network over lunch with other local florists and industry people, before getting hands on with activities including mini masterclasses and business marketing ideas.
The heats for UK florist of the Year will also be held at the hub meetings, so cheer on your fellow florists or apply now to take part. Hub meetings are open to all florists, so what are you waiting for - book your space now!
UK Florist of the Year Competition
Where: Glasgow, Sheffield, Bristol, London and Nottingham
When: May - September
A brand new competition hosted by the British Florist Association, and a crown every florist dreams of winning – UK Florist of the Year. Open to any florist with more than 5 years experience in the industry, heats will be held across 4 hub meetings taking place round the UK this Spring. The live final for UK Florist of the Year will take place in late September at FleurEx – the largest flower exhibition in the UK. Each heat will be judged by the UK Floristry Judges Guild.

National Florist Day
Where: Nationwide
When: 8th June
National Florist Day, founded by the fabulous Caroline Marshall-Foster from the Good Florist Guide, is a day to celebrate all things flowers, floristry and of course, local florists!
“Now is the time to harness that brilliance and present a real showcase of all that is wonderful about our sector, the amazing things independent florists do and encourage more people, especially the next generation, into the sector by showing them the opportunities and job satisfaction.” ~ Caroline Marshall-Foster

Faces of Floristry Awards
As part of National Florist Day, there is also a 100 Faces of Floristry Awards to find the hidden heroes of the flower industry. So if you know a local florist shop with fabulous customer service, an inspiring college tutor, helpful flower wholesaler, or delivery driver who always goes the extra mile, nominate them now online! Nominations close 30th April 2024.
British Flowers Week
Where: Nationwide & London
When: 3-9th June
The campaign, now lead by Flowers from the Farm, British Flowers Week celebrates British grown cut flowers. They are inviting every florist, retailer, wholesaler and grower of British grown flowers to get involved by organising floral events to inspire the nation; from pop-up flower stalls, gorgeous window displays, hosting flower talks, floral workshops to flower-field tours. This is a great week to really inspire and educate the public on the beautiful British flowers. Discover more about British Flowers Week by visting their website.
The Garden Museum in London will also be celebrating British Flowers Week this year, with exhibition of floral installations from 5 of the country’s top floral designers. Open 6th -10th June, it is well worth a visit if you can make it!
FleurEx
Where: Nottingham
When:28th – 29th September
A full scale florist exhibition, FleurEx is a must visit event for any retail florist. It has everything from competitions (the final for UK Florist of the Year will be held at FleurEx this year) demonstrations by talented designers, Industry Awards evening, business drop in sessions, and huge exhibition space full of wholesalers, growers and industry suppliers. The team from FloristPro will be at FleurEx this year, so stop by our stand to chat all things websites!
In 2024 FleurEx will be held at East Midlands Conference Centre, which is just off the M1 Nottingham making it easy to reach for florists around the UK.
