Floristry website trends for 2022
20 June 2022
We share 5 of the biggest website trends for florists in 2022 we have spotted - and how you can add that extra sparkle to your website this year!
Natural colours with a twist
Luckily there are SO many colour palettes that work amazingly for floristry branding and websites. Everything from soft pretty pastels, stylish grey, bold navy and jewel tones are all popular website colours for florists, but also work great on screen for user experience (UX) - something that Google likes to see too!
But in 2022, the biggest trend for floristry websites has to be natural earthy shades. Rustic greens, natural beige and deep terracotta all look fabulous online, along with being stylish brand colours for a florist. And for the extra special touch? Add a dash of a highlight colour to the earthy shades such as peach - just like the lovely Fleur & Blume team in Scotland, whose website is eye catching and reflects their branding.
British blooms and seasonal stems
Seasonal flowers and British blooms are popular choices with customers, and we have seen florists adding more and more bouquets to their website to reflect the demand. Especially over the Summer months when British grown blooms are at their finest – think sunflowers, alstroemeria, stocks, dahlias, hydrangeas and sweet peas in relaxed, country garden style bouquets.
Take a peek at award-winning Highgate Florist in East Sussex who have this down to a T. Not only are they a florist, but also a family run nursery with 9 acre flower field – which gives them cream of the crop blooms herbs and foliage to use in their gorgeous bespoke floral designs.
Eco floristry
More than just a trend, Eco floristry is the now and the future for the floristry industry. Small changes and sustainable swaps are a great starting point for florists – taking a leaf out of RHS Chelsea whose rules mean floral displays cannot use one time use floral foam. It is also a fab selling point online, with customers looking for more sustainable options.
So if you have made some swaps such as reusable vases for subscription flowers clients, eco-friendly wrap or naked bouquet options, or even local flower delivery by bicycle then shout about it on your website!
Workshops
They took a longer than expected break due to the pandemic, but now they are back with bang for 2022! Flower workshops and classes have proven to be so popular this year, with many florists now adding workshop pages and online booking options to their floristPro websites. A great way to promote your floral events, get to know your local community and offer them a fun evening learning all about flowers.
Check out Chobham Flowers, an independent florist nestled in the heart of Surrey, whose floral workshops page looks beautiful and easily allows customers to book a spot online.
Plants
We are still going wild for houseplants in 2022! It is great to see so many local florists adding a plant range to their website, along with other little extras and gifts. Your website is all about giving customers the products they want, when they want them. So by having plants & gifts along with bouquets means they can order from their local florist easily online - this is perfect for gifting too, as customers love being able to send a thoughtful gift for birthdays, new arrivals, congratulations or thinking of you.
Banstead based florist Mad Lilies always ensure their website has the latest gifts and plants available for customers to fall in love with; from Boston Ferns to Peace Lilies, scented candles to cute glass vases.
